The 2026 championship has finished. This guide keeps that edition in context while helping you prepare for 2027 without treating a preliminary calendar listing as a final competition announcement.

Start with your events, then build the day

A familiar competition name does not guarantee that its next edition will use the same categories or timetable. When the 2027 literature is released, sit down with your partner, parent or coach and make one shared list of the events you intend to enter. Crown's official Palladium venue page places the ballroom on Level 1 of Crown Towers, at 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank. Save the ballroom name and address rather than relying on a general destination of “Crown Melbourne”.

Plan the final part of the trip as carefully as the drive or train journey. Allow time to move from your chosen arrival point to the ballroom with garment bags, collect your number and find the competition's designated preparation area. Families and anyone requiring step-free access should confirm the most suitable route with the venue and organiser before travelling.

Keep your competition shoes protected during the journey. Change into them in an appropriate indoor area, and carry everyday shoes for walking around the precinct. A roomy bag is useful; an oversized collection of loose bags makes check-in and changing harder.

A preparation plan that works before entries open

Now: review what you learnt from your last competition. Choose one performance priority with your coach, such as a more settled start or clearer partnership communication, and make that part of normal practice. Pencil the proposed date into your calendar with its status visible.

When the programme is published: confirm categories, admission needs and any separate tickets for supporters. Build your travel plan around the published requirements. A spectator ticket and a competitor entry may serve different purposes, so check what each purchase includes.
