Your preparation checklist

Decide with your teacher whether you want to dance alone, be assessed individually with a partner, or compete as a couple. Then check the exact category name and restrictions. Practise in the costume and shoes appropriate to that section, especially if switching between recreational and other formats.

Check the shoes you already train in before deciding whether anything needs replacing. Use our fit and sizing guide and shoe-care and heel-protector guide. Trial changes during practice, with enough time to resolve fit issues before competing.
